Missionary Prayer Points September 2014

Release International

Ask God to protect and provide for Christians who have been forced to leave their homes in Iraq and Syria.  Pray that they will not despair but take heart in the Lord’s promises that He will never leave nor forsake them.

Majed & Anna Tinawi

Pray for;

  • two Kuwaitis who were on holiday in Gdansk.  In conversation with Majed they asked for a Arabic Bible, pray that they will read the Bible and come to saving faith in Jesus.
  • The safety of Majed’s family in Syria as they have been forced to leave their homes.
  • Majed as he continues with the commentary “The Typology of Christ”
  • Anna who has been suffering stomach pain and also Majed with back pain, pray for healing.

Billy & Jeanne Campbell

Pray for:

  • Yem Sarorn who is both school principal at Hope House Education Centre (HHEC) also a Pastor and for his dedicated staff as they teach and share the love of Jesus with the pupils.
  • Improved health of the Hope House director YI Narith and for the school principal Yem Sarorn who is being treated for hepatitis
  • the children, over 300 attend classes daily at HHEC.  The food budget has doubled and many extra student books have to be printed.
  • Over 20 villagers who have been attending weekly discipleship classes led by Yem Sarorn, 10 new believers are preparing to be baptised locally.  Pray that these new believers will faithfully attend the discipleship classes at the HHEC school site.
  • Political stability and the safety of both staff and students in this remote rural community. Dangers abound and the evil one always seeks to hinder the work of God’s kingdom.

Burma; the renovation of Calvary Theological and Missions Academy (CTMA) is almost complete .  At CTMA there are 26 students and at Myanmar Vision Christian College (MVCC) 23 students.  These 49 students are diligently pursuing a 4 year curriculum preparing to serve as evangelists, church planters and pastors in their nation.  Please pray for the 8 students who graduated in February and who are in full time service, 4 urgently need support.

Daada Luogon (London City Mission) 

Pray for Daada who had to cancel his trip to Liberia due to the Ebola virus which has claimed the lives of hundreds of people.  Loraine the nurse who had been in Liberia since June returned home as the clinic at Saclepea was closed. Please pray for freedom from illness for all the healthcare workers still working in Liberia, struggling to meet overwhelming demands of those who are sick with the virus as well as treating ordinary patients.

Pray for Daada’s relatives in Liberia, his brother ans sister and their families for protection from infection.

Please also pray that many people will come to know the Lord as their Saviour after the Bemerton Soul community outreach the end of July.

Karen & Rhonda (Calvary Mission) 

Give thanks for;

  • 850 CD’s and tracts given out at the music festival in Westport.
  • The thousands of evangelistic magazines given out throughout the country.
  • The many Gospel conversations on the streets and people’s own doorsteps.
  • All the boys and girls who listened so attentively at the children’s clubs in various towns.
  • Opportunity to share the Gospel with 2 parents, Breege and Teresa.
  • Good time in the bookshop with people from all over the world, now over 500 Bibles given out.

Pray for;

  • Larry, Kathy and family who return to California
  • Johnny & Julie Pollock and their three boys planning to move to Westport, summer 2015 to work with the mission.
  • Andy who was able to start a weekly Bible study on Claremorris Community Radio, he has now been given a weekly slot on Westport Radio beginning September.  Pray that these programmes will be used for the advance of the Gospel in the West of Ireland.

Ian & Claire Gray (Wycliffe)

Praise the Lord for the new regulations which mean that Ian & Claire no longer require yellow fever vaccination, as the previous 4 doses give lifelong protection.  The Doctor advised Ian & Claire not to travel to Ghana during the wet season when malaria is prevalent but to travel in the dry season start of January.  Thank the Lord both Ian and Claire are in good health after recent illness.

Pray for Ian as he continues checking the Tampulma OT as revised by Pastor Samuel.

Pray for the Gonja translators, Adam, Francis and Issah who are working with John the typesetter.  Please pray for their funding, food, accommodation in Tamale.

Pray for Michael the main translator for the Kusaal people who is preparing the Kusaal Bible ready for typesetting.  Please pray for his eyesight after putting a fungal cream into his eyes as this has caused loss of vision.

Pray for safety of Pastors Konlan, Samuel and all the translators and literacy workers as armed robbers are coming from other African nations to steal cash, motorbikes etch.

Pray for Pastor Abraham who is planning to have 6 preaching sessions on the local Christian radio station in Tamale which will cause many local people to contact him with their questions.

Please pray for Pastor Nelson who supervises the Literacy for Life classes in the churches, over  20,000 young people in 1340 churches in 16 different language groups use this programme.

Pray for the celebration by Ian & Claire of 50 years with Wycliffe on 6th September in Monkstown Baptist church, thanking the Lord for their years of service.

Peter & Mhairi and Isla Fleck  

Pray for this family as they return to Spain after furlough to continue to reach out with the Gospel to people who are living without God and without hope.

Pray for Mhairi who has been unwell for healing, for Isla who will be returning to school in September.

Pray for more workers to join with the existing church in Spain to spread the Good News.

Pray for the ladies Bible study, over 25 attending and also the Art Studio located in new premises.
