In light of the current situation, here is some information for this weekend:
- Don’t come to church if you have any flu like symptoms even if you haven’t come into contact with someone who has the virus. The symptoms to be aware of in the case of the Coronavirus include cough, shortness of breath, difficulty in breathing, and fever.
- Specifically, members who have been advised to self-isolate should not come to Church Services or other meetings or activities, until they have been advised otherwise by their medical practitioner
- Practice good hand hygiene and follow the “catch it, bin it, kill it” advice from public health agency.
- We encourage you not to shake hands, hug people etc.
- We are changing how we take up offering – plates will be at the doors.
- As far as possible stewards will open the doors for everyone and doors to the sanctuary will be left open during the service.
- Tea and coffee prior to and after the services will be cancelled for the foreseeable future.
- We will continue to put all sermons on Facebook and our Website. Our Facebook page is found at ‘1st Ahoghill Presbyterian Church’
- Those who have underlying health challenges should consider the wisdom of being in large crowds of people at the moment – this might be the time to join in worship through Facebook or our church website.
We know this is a worrying and fearful time for many, particularly when we hear the reports from China and Italy, but we must also remember that God is Sovereign.
In Psalm 121 we find the Psalmist considering where his help comes from and he concludes,
“My help comes from the Lord, the maker of Heaven and Earth.”
God, the Creator and Sustainer of all things is the One eminently qualified to help us in this and all circumstances.
