Congregational Praise | Choirs and Praise groups | Instrumental accompaniment

We have worked for the last number of years towards having a mix of traditional hymns and psalms alongside more contemporary songs. Our choice of new songs has been based on their lyrical content and the ease with which all members of the congregation can ‘pick up’ the tunes! We aim to ensure that everyone can enjoy participating meaningfully in God’s praise.

The choir, whose chief function is to lead the congregation in praise, do so at most services. They also have a music ministry of course, and to this end they often sing during the Offering as well as at special services e.g. Harvest, Easter and Christmas .They are a very dedicated bunch of people who work hard to be the best that they possibly can, whilst having a lot of fun and ‘banter’ during practices. We also form a Praise group for ladies and men which sings at our annual Christmas Praise service – all comers welcome!

A group of our young people forms  the choir from time to time, and the Sabbath School prepares a Service in place of the traditional ‘Childrens’ Day.

Praise is accompanied by Yvonne on piano, Des on our beautiful new organ and our instrumental group with flutes, clarinets, cello, double bass, guitars and drums .For most services we all play together harmoniously (no pun intended), alternating with Kirsty or Louise on piano and group ,or just Des and Yvonne on the traditional organ and piano.

If you play an instrument or sing, and you would like to join us, we would love to have you!
